I have never had much luck with cookies. They’re too burnt, I put in too much butter and they turn to soup, or they…just don’t work.

These actually came out pretty nicely–though the first batch bottoms were a bit too dark. Still not perfect. As the description says, they are basically chocolate chips, walnuts, and a hint of ginger. Very tasty I have to admit.

I’m not really sure what my problem with baking cookies is–there are classic memories where I inadvertently doubled the amount of butter and my cookies spread out like paramecium in a Petrie dish to turn into a flat Iowa plain of butter, sugar, and chocolate chips. Or too crisp on the edges, or never gooey. Bah and humbug to cookies, I say…at least for now.
