I had some bihon noodles sitting about my pantry and, naturally, I thought some months later (tonight) to put together a nice ord of pancit palabok. I fried my garlic, cut my green onions, cooked my ground pork in prepared achuete oil, ground some chicharonnes (I’m tired already), boiled some hard boiled eggs, and warmed up some shrimp.

All good. The sauce, though…all it had was
1) water
2) cornstarch
3) achuete oil

Sauce? Absolutely tasteless. Though all the other component ingredients were fine, the sauce pulled nothing together.


Well, I need a better sauce recipe, but…
